#1Debut

How to play #1 Debut

Spin real albums. Pick one song from each. Build a 12-track debut and see where it charts.

#1 Debut is a free music draft game in the browser. No install, no login. You build a Franken-album from a curated pool of real records, then the game projects a chart debut - anywhere from missing the chart to a #1 week.

  1. Choose your mode. Classic shows ratings while you draft. Expert hides them until the end.
  2. Pick a genre. Keep the full pool, or cut it to Hip-Hop, Pop, or Rock. Genre guides show what is in each filter.
  3. Spin. The reel pulls a random album from the pool.
  4. Pick one song from that album for your tracklist - or use your one free redraw if you want a different album.
  5. Optional: after the free redraw, watch a short ad for one more redraw. Never required to finish a run.
  6. Repeat until you have twelve tracks.
  7. Read the debut. Your picks score into a projected position from the low 200s up to #1.

How your debut is scored

Five things move the needle:

FactorWhat helps
Track qualityHigher average ratings across all twelve songs.
Track flowNeighboring songs that sit close in energy and tempo.
Single balanceA mix of singles and deep cuts - roughly a third to half singles.
Artist spreadDifferent artists, not one name filling half the album.
Peak trackAt least one standout, high-rated song as the lead.

FAQ

Is #1 Debut free to play?

Yes. It runs in your browser, costs nothing, and never asks for an account. Optional ads help keep it free - including one extra album redraw if you choose to watch a short ad.

How does #1 Debut work?

You spin a random album, pick one song, and repeat until you have twelve tracks. Those picks get scored into a projected chart debut.

Can I redraw an album?

On a free run you get one free redraw. After that, you can watch a short ad for one more redraw. Challenge runs keep the original album sequence, so redraws are off.

Can your album really debut at #1?

It can, but it is rare. You need strong ratings, decent flow, a mix of singles and deep cuts, and more than one artist carrying the record.

What is the difference between Classic and Expert mode?

Classic shows song ratings while you draft. Expert hides them so you play from memory and taste, then shows the score at the end.

What are challenge links?

After a free run you can send a link that locks the same album draw for a friend, so they draft from your exact spins.
