What you are actually locking
This filter only spins eras I tagged hip-hop, rap, or trap. Not "anyone who has ever rapped." Genre is per album, so if someone went pop later those records live under Pop, not here. Tables at the bottom are the strongest stuff inside this pool.
It is a smaller shelf than All Genres, and a handful of artists own a lot of eras. Scoring wants you to spread names around, so you will see doubles more than you like. That is the music, not a bug.
How a run usually goes
You pass on good second songs from people you already drafted. Taking a slightly worse track from a new name is often correct, even when it feels wrong. Features mess with that: the game counts the album artist on the card, not your favorite guest. Look before you lock.
Flow is easier than the full reel. Everything sits closer together. The cost is ceiling. A bunch of the absolute highest ratings live on Pop and Rock eras you locked out. You can still #1 (I calibrated for that), but it will not look like an All Genres god run.
What to grab
Best eras here are albums where the whole tracklist holds, not just the singles. Land one of those and you can almost draft with your eyes closed. Land a weak one and you need to know which one or two songs actually carry it.
Expert bumps deep cuts a bit. Hip-Hop albums are full of tracks radio never played and fans know cold, so that bump is real. Classic: trust the numbers, but watch for the same name showing up again. Looks fine in the column. Hurts on the end screen.
Should you pick it?
Yes if you want a run that sounds like one record and you know the catalogs. No if you are just hunting a personal-best number. That is All Genres. Rules do not change. Only the shelf does. How to play, tips, notes.
